DONATIONS OFFICE

Why Donate?

Miskatonic University was founded by myself and has been maintained by me since its inception at Geocities in 1994. The University was built from late nights coding, editing, resourcing, and passion. After my graduation, I've kept the site up as a hobby for more than anything else. With teaching as my primary job (you guessed it, why I made a University website), and music and art as my drive, I've maintained this site for fun more than anything else.

Since I created the site, the response has been incredible. I've received so many emails and comments from all of you out there. Many of you gave me critiques, others praises and even some gave me contributions. So, lately, I've been adding new areas to the website to make it more interactive. This is what we want, really.

As Lovecraft readers and horror literature fans, this site has become a cult site and so I want to market it more. I want people to know about it. I've added a Resources page containing links to various Lovecraft websites keeping in the interests in all ways scholarly. I've hired independent computer consultants to give me advice to push me to the tops of the search engines. I've added an Alumni page where you can sign up and add your name to the alumni of Miskatonic University. All of this, without trying to sell you anything. Why?

Commercializing?

This site is a resource for literary purposes. It's also a resource to gamers. Now, I'd like this website used in any CoC campaign that involves faculty or members of Miskatonic University. I want this website to be a remembrance to what Lovecraft left us in his work.

I love the site. I maintain it because how can I not. Donations are always a help.

Where Does My Donation Go To?

What this all leads to is why donate? Where do my donations go?
Your contribution goes into the following:

  • Hosting
  • Software (I purchase my web development software because I have a company.)
  • Maintenance
  • Updates
  • Interest
  • Outsourcing for programming

With your donation, you can help fund this site and let others experience it too. Let's face it, there isn't an enormous amount of information out there on Miskatonic University and we're not exactly profiled on MSN or anything like that. I get world-wide emails, sometimes in languages that I do not speak. I love reading them and may start posting them for others to share. I plan on adding a Forum in the future where all of us can communicate, but I'm not there yet and it will take some time.
