Today we are Cancelling the Apocalypse: The Pacific Rim

The Pacific Rim could be Guillermo Del Toro’s take on Cthulhu in the modern age. It has been some time since we’ve seen a good monster movie, last we recall being JJ Abram’s; Cloverfield. The Pacific Rim is about creatures from the deep rise to the planet’s surface to terrorize the human population. An excellent take of The Call of Cthulhu in the modern era by a true Lovecraft fan!

There has been talk of Guillermo Del Toro directing a version of At The Mountains of Madness and we’ve seen some scripts floating around on the internet. For the time being, The Pacific Rim will be a hopeful for new Lovecraft related movies coming from Hollywood.
